FAQ

WHEN AND WHERE DO I ARRIVE/DEPART? For clients arriving by air, you will fly into Vancouver International Airport (YVR) the day before your hunt starts. For example - You will arrive in Vancouver on November 19 for a hunt scheduled to start November 20. You will then overnight at a hotel the night of the 19th, and be transported to camp the morning of the 20th. We recommend clients book flexible return flights, as hunts are often successful early.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE HUNT? WHAT IS NOT? INCLUDED: Transportation to and from Vancouver on allotted hunt dates, requisite trophy care, all meals and lodging during your hunt. NOT INCLUDED: Hotel and travel costs before and after your hunt, hunting license/tags/royalties, trophy shipping, gratuities. All hunts are subject to 5% GST.

WHAT KIND OF GEAR DO I NEED? We pursue a variety of game throughout a long season, with varying weather and types of hunts. A September mule deer hunt has different requirements than a November goat hunt. After booking, you will be provided a gear list designed for your specific hunt. We are happy to give opinions on gear you already have, and advice on gear you need to purchase.

WHAT HAPPENS WITH MY TROPHY AFTER THE HUNT? After your successful harvest, all skinning and caping will be handled by your guide. Skulls will be cut and or cleaned, and hides will be frozen. Everything will be transported to Ray Wiens Taxidermy who handles compulsory inspections, shipping prep, and expediting in house.

HOW DO I BRING A RIFLE INTO CANADA? For clients travelling to Canada for the first time, bringing a rifle across the border can be intimidating. Luckily, the process is very straight forward. You will be required to print and fill out a 'Non Resident Firearm Declaration Form (RCMP 5589)' before you travel. You will present this form to an agent at customs and be charged a $25 CAD fee.
